The 24 frames per second high definition (HD) format has broken the barriers for digital HD to enter the television industry and possibly become the exclusive format for the future, with its use becoming increasingly popular in the U S. and Europe. HD is visible to the naked eye only after several generations, and is useful for editing because it allows footage to be seen, unlike Serial Digital Transfer Interface.
