Channel 5 is in its fifth year of broadcasting, and senior controller Chris Shaw admits that C5's early days used sex as a subject to gain ratings, but asserts that he has commissioned other types of reality shows and documentaries that are high-quality. He is looking to continue to produce niche programming, and is optimistic about the channel's future and ability to increase its share.
