The politics and psychology of stereotyping
Article Abstract:
The concept of stereotyping is still in the process of development and it assumes a different meaning in different disciplines. 'Stereotyping and Social Reality' by Penelope J. Oakes, S. Alexander Haslam and John C. Turner and 'Stereotypes and Social Cognition' by Jacques-Philine Leyens, Vincent Yzerbyt and Georges Schadron lack the clear differentiation between stereotyping and stereotype. The evolution of alternative concepts will give it a definite meaning.

Article Abstract:
A comparison between the private, public and government controlled American media systems show the influence of corporate and government interests. The media plays an important role in forming public opinion. During 1920-1970, the American electronic media remained under government control before it got deregulated in 1975. A study shows that the deregulation effected little change in the character of mass media.
