Unnatural history? Deconstructing the "Walking with Dinosaurs" phenomenon
Article Abstract:
The authors study the social impact of the digitally rendered television program "Walking with Dinosaurs," its subsequent documentary "The Making of Walking with Dinosaurs" and the website on the show created by the BBC. The examine the process called remediation, in which the new technology relates itself to past technology by making itself less conspicuous and therefore more real or if it highlights its technological advances and therefore its artificiality.
