Virgin pressing for Sky to cut ITV stake to 5%
Article Abstract:
Virgin Media, after Competition Commission (CC) found BSkyB's 17.9% ITV shareholding "against public interest", will attempt to influence BSkyB to reduce its stake to less than 5%. BSkyB can either sell its entire stake, sell enough shares that it does not have material influence over ITV, or sell some of its stake that is subject to restrictions, such as in voting rights. The CC investigation, as well as other ways for BSkyB to fix the issue, is discussed.
