John Smith of BBC Worldwide has revealed plans to revamp the corporation's 2,850 different brands in order to reach more consumers. The focus of Smith's plan is building program brands such as "Top Gear" and "Strictly Come Dancing". The effects of the US writers' strike on television program schedules in the UK are also discussed.
