A leadership legacy: A quick reference to mentoring
Article Abstract:
Marine Corps leadership comprises of tactical and technical proficiency, judgment and mentoring through which such leaders make a lasting impact on the individual, the unit and the Corps. Certain important but basic rules of mentorship are discussed, including clearly stating the interrelation of the unit's achievements and Marines' career, praising in public and criticizing in private, and assessing Marines' performances through application of realistic goals.

Ethics for the junior officer: Is it ever okay to lie?
Article Abstract:
The question of what a lie is and when it is acceptable to tell a lie is analyzed, since Marine leaders, who are watched and may be emulated by their subordinates, have to be careful in what they say or do. Examples are given to explain honesty and integrity and it is suggested that unethical behavior constituting illegality and deception lead to ethical dilemmas.

The contributions of the U.S. Col John R Boyd to the U.S. war strategy are discussed. The contributions were more than just the concept of operating inside the opponent's OODA (orientation, observation, decision, action) loop.
