African Union urges Chad-Sudan talks

Article Abstract:

Alpha Oumar Konare, chief of the African Union Commission, commenting on the escalating tension between the two following the rebel attack on the Chadian town of Adre in December 2005 states that only negotiation can resolve the crisis between Chad and Sudan. Another concern to the Commission is the likelihood of the Darfur crisis spilling over into Chad.
