Anti-ship missiles made in Sweden

Saab Dynamics of Sweden has introduced its SAAB RBS15 Mk3 antiship missile to the export market. The 'fire-and-forget' missile, which began development in 1996, is an all-weather missile that can be deployed in either day or night operations. The missile system's advanced capabilities include a modern Missile Engagement Planning System, a long flight range of over 200 km, sophisticated target selection, defense penetration capabilities and a warhead that meets insensitive munitions standards.

Buyer sought for Siemens Plessey Defence

Siemens AG is looking for a buyer or joint venture partner for its UK Siemens Plessey Defence. The subsidiary operates a state-of-the-art plant in Ilford, UK, which is well-equipped to produce specialist defence equipment such as tactical radios and TADS/PNVS in small batches. GEC was rumored to be interested in Siemens Plessey, but the deal is now less likely to happen with GEC drawing closer on its telecoms business with GPT.

Air defence at sea
Article Abstract:
The Eurosam PAAMS (Principal Anti-Air Missile System) projects aims to develop sea-launched missiles which will be used in the Project HORIZON Common New Generation Frigate. A newly formed company called EUROPAAMS handlkes the development and production of the PAAMS missiles. PAAMS is expected to compete with the current anti-air missiles such as the SM2, the RIMP-7P Sea Sparrow, the Seawolf and the Inner Lauyer Missile System.
