Armoured inflatable takes a bow
Article Abstract:
Sillinger SA, a Mer, France-based company, has introduced an armoured inflatable craft at Euronaval in Paris, France. The inflatable craft, which runs on two Mercury 90 engines, is touted to be able to withstand 7.62 mm or 5.56 mm NATO rounds. In addition, the craft has the ability to achieve speeds in excess of 45 knots and can hold 18 soldiers or a 2,000- kg load. The company expects to receive orders from armies and marines for the craft.

USN Special Warfare studies new raiding craft
Article Abstract:
Thunderduck Inflatable Boats of El Cajon, CA, has developed a series of inflatable combat reconnaissance raiding craft that is currently being evaluated by the US Naval Special Warfare Command. The series, called Abductor, consists of the 4500 and 47000 models, which are shorter and wider than the Zodiac F470 that is currently being used in special operations. The company claims that the Abductors are very stable and can carry more weight.

Albuquerque, NM-based MUSE Technologies has developed an innovative software that will help the US Navy analyze ship, submarine and aircraft movements during seaborne drills. The software uses a custom Windows NT- based application created with MuSE Software Development Environment 2000. It allows users to view exercises, presented in 3D graphics, from any perspective and to stop, fast foward or reverse warfare scenarios.
