The US Army's Special Forces continue their training and preparation for unconventional warfare. With more 'conflict,' and less 'war' anticipated, the services of the Special Forces will be valued.

The U.S. Army's Vigilant Warrior war game and the U.S. Air Force's Global Engagement VI war game have helped gain valuable insights from the exploration of the performance of currently programmed or potential force structures and service concepts in scenarios which pose security threats. The author has attempted to answer the questions raised as a consequence of the evaluation of performance and capabilities in such situations.
