Article Abstract:
US service chiefs are hoping to convert the US Army from what was once a single, plodding, heavy Cold War fighting force into a group of compact, easily deployable, hard-hitting and independent combat teams. This endeavor will see an increase in the Army's need for air mobility and support and to meet this requirement the US Air Force will have to effect changes as well.
