Article Abstract:
Most Asian countries have put the economic difficulties of the late 1990s behind them and are focusing more spending on the military, including amphibious forces. Such forces in Japan, China, Taiwan, North and South Korea, Australia, Indonesia, India, Singapore, and Thailand are discussed.
