Attack submarine programs worldwide: A global review
Article Abstract:
The first and the basic consideration for submarine programs worldwide is that only a handful of countries are capable to design and build submarines, which require a very high level of design and production specialization. Dispersed networks of remote sensors and remote-controlled mines will further increase the flexibility of submarines, raising their combat capabilities to previously unheard-of levels and drastically changing the Network Centered Warfare era's modes of operation.

Open architecture Naval combat systems for the 21st century

The United States Navy's Open Architecture's (OA) effort in reducing multiple infrastructures that result from a number of competing architectures and also to follow a product-line approach that will generate true economic efficiencies are discussed. OA can be described as an integrated engineering discipline, a technical approach and a business strategy information system that is based on mainstream commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) information and computing technologies and system.

A deployable joint HQs for the NATO responses force

A standing deployable joint task force was created to respond quickly to crisis outside NATO's traditional areas of operation. The NATO response force (NFR) was formed during the NATO summit with highly ready and technologically advanced force made up of land, air, sea and Special Forces components.
