Australia considers Anzac proposal
Article Abstract:
British Aerospace Australia Ltd (BAeA) has submitted its proposal for the Royal Australian Navy's A$2-billion ($1.72 billion) Anzac frigate Warfighting Improvement Project. BAeA has proposed a 10-m, 300-ton plug, which would involve the installation of an additional hull module to accomated the navys' choice of radar. The WIP program was launched to boost the anti-ship and air warfare capabilities of the navy's eight 3,600-ton Anzac-class frigates.

Australia's Super Seasprite cuts its teeth
Article Abstract:
Kaman Aerospace Corp has delivered the initial production prototype of its SH-2G(A) Super Seasprite multimission helicopter for testing to the Royal Australian Navy. The Super Seasprites, re-manufactured from US Navy SH-2 airframes, feature an Integrated Avionics Systems from Litton Guidance and Control Systems. Kaman's helicopter also has a digital Automatic Flight Control System that permits programmable flight patterns and automatic approach.

Ship self-defence upgrades keep pace with new threats
Article Abstract:
A number of navies of governments throughout the world are upgrading their marine integrated weapons systems to automate and accelerate marine detect-control-engage procedures, particularly against state-of-the-art, anti-ship cruise missiles (ASCMs) during ship-defense naval operations. For instance, the US Navy has developed sophisticated ship self-defense systems to provide its vessels with a layered defense capability against ASCMs.
