Boeing revises JSF design
Article Abstract:
Boeing Co has redesigned its Model 372 demonstrator aircraft for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program Office contract. Changes to the wing/empennage layout and chin inlet are part of the new Model 373, which was conceptualized to improve weight, maneuverability and carrier-landing speed specifications. Although Boeing is competing with Lockheed Martin Corp for the JSF contract, both companies are expected to have several similarities, including takeoff, landing and low-speed flying standards.
