British strategic defense review nears completion
Article Abstract:
UK's Ministry of Defense has completed it Strategic Defence Review and has submitted it for Cabinet approval. The review tackled the different and emerging defense issues confronting the armed services. The study gave an insight into possible reforms wherein the Royal Navy may acquire Horizon-class frigates, Type 42 anti-air warfare destroyers and its current force of nuclear-powered attack submarines may be retained or reduced. The Royal Air Force, meanwhile, may eliminate its Jaguar squadron and reassign its Harrier jumpjets to naval units.
