Bush proposes $18.4 billion increase to FY 2000 defense budget
Article Abstract:
Pres Bush increased defense spending $18.4 billion, to $328.9 billion, for FY 2002. He approved the amount after Sec of Defense Donald Rumsfeld stated that the military had been underfunded for years and needed the additional funding to make repairs to bring the military to the level at which it should be. Specific needs for additional funding are described.

President sends $419.3 billion DoD budget to Congress

US President George W. Bush sent his budget request of $419.3 billion for the Department of Defense to Congress for fiscal year (FY) 2006 on 7th February 2005. The budget represents a five percent increase over last years budget.
