Canada chooses two industry teams for its Joint Support Ship projectn
Article Abstract:
Canada's government has selected ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) and SNC Lavalin ProFac, two industry teams, to proceed into the project definition phase of the $1.8 billion Joint Support Ship (JSS) acquisition project. The JSS would be capable of strategic sealift operations, as well as sustained in-theatre, sea-based command and control and joint/combined force support, in addition to providing underway support for naval task groups.

Wind of change: Cyclones bring Canada up to date
Article Abstract:
The progress made by the Canadian government in replacing the obsolescent CH-124 Sea King helicopters with the new CH-148 Cyclone aircraft is reported. Sikorsky International Operations Inc., has won the long-disputed contract to build new H-92 helicopters and CH-148 Cyclone aircrafts in order to replace CH-124 Sea King helicopters and revive Canada's Maritime Helicopter Project (MHP).
