Sea power for a maritime nation
Article Abstract:
The US Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Michael G. Mullen has called for aligning the US Navy with a more broadly defined concept of sea power, which will be based on a balanced fleet force structure guided by close co-operation with Navies and Coast Guards around the world. The CNO's vision for the US naval operations is reported.

Mullen assumes duties as U.S. Navy's CNO
Article Abstract:
Admiral Michael G. Mullen takes over from Adm. Vern Clark as the US Navy's Chief of Naval Operations (CNO). Admiral Clark comes in for much praise as he is decorated with the Distinguished Service Medal and Mullen undertakes to build on Clark's successes with the fleet.
