China arms ban hinders developing Sino-EU relations
Article Abstract:
European Union member states are considering lifting the EU embargo on arms sales to China, although there are concerns among some governments about Chinese intentions toward Taiwan and its human rights record and US reaction as well. The EU member states believe that China should do its part to assist the lifting of the ban such as release of the remaining Tiananmen prisoners, or the ratification of the International Convention on Civil and Political Rights.
