E-2C Hawkeye 2000 demonstrates CEC progress
Article Abstract:
Northrop Grumman Corp has announced the successful testing of the cooperative engagement capability (CEC) of its Hawkeye 2000 airborne early warning aircraft after 23 flight hours. The CEC system on board the aircraft is designed to help warships engage targets not detected by its air defence systems by processing the data from several sensors. The Hawkeye 2000 was upgraded to include mission computer, control indicator systems, satellite communication equipment and an avionics cooling system.

Raytheon's standards SM-3 completes first flight
Article Abstract:
Raytheon Aerospace Co has successfully completed the first ship-launched flight test of its Standard SM-3 surface-to-air missile, which is aimed to be the point of the spear in the Navy Theater Wie defense against theater ballistic missiles. The Ticonderoga-class Aegis guided-missile cruiser USS Shiloh at the Pacific Missile Range Facility in Kauai, HI, launched the Raytheon-built SM-3.
