First CV-22 tiltrotor rolls out
Article Abstract:
Bell Helicopter Textron has delivered the first CV-22 tiltrotor aircraft to the US Air Force on Jul 2, 2000. The CV-22, a modified version of the V-22 Osprey, was unveiled in a ceremony held at the consortium's manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, TX. The CV-22, which differs from the MV-22 of the US Marine Corps in terms of its communications equipment and special avionics, will replace the current aircraft being used by both the Army and Air Force Special Operations Forces.

Cahlink, George
Article Abstract:
A story of Cold War intrigue in October 1953 is recounted wherein Balkan country presumed to be Yugoslavia, offered a fighter, Yak-23 Flora, to the US for a brief period. US accepted the offer of studying and flight-testing the aircraft before returning it, and the Yak-23 Flora, inspite of having many features, was ultimately outclassed by the MiG-15, which was introduced at approximately the same time.
