Freeing bolts and gear knobs: Industry hopes new Congress will untie some export-restriction knots
Article Abstract:
John Douglass, president of Aerospace Industries Association feels that because of the strict rules and export regulations in the United States to keep military weapons out of reach of U.S. enemies, other simple export items like the sale of nuts, bolts and tubing are getting affected and U.S. is loosing out in the global marketplace. He hopes that the upcoming 2008 elections will bring in secure reforms, if the defense industry can develop an alternative to the existing export licensing system.
