Article Abstract:
The Navy and Coast Guard have worked together since the early years of the United States. The Coast Guard originated from the US Revenue Cutter Service, which aided the Department of the Navy, in an effort to stop French privateers from attacking vessels, until the was was settled with a peace treaty in Feb 1801.

The X-1: historical perspective
Article Abstract:
The USS X-1 was envisioned as a midget sub for use in unconventional Frogmen operations. Its innovative hydrogen-peroxide diesel propulsion system, however, caused a variety of problems, and the prototype blew up on May 20 1955.
