From Cheyenne to Comanche
Article Abstract:
The number of U.S. Army's weapons and vehicles that were consigned to oblivion after an inordinate amount of time, money and effort spent on getting them ready for production are discussed. Cheyenne (scout helicopter), MBT70 (tank), Sgt. York (air defense gun) and Comanche (scout helicopter) are some of the battlefield capabilities, most of which are not present today despite their utility and affordability when compared to the costs of atomic submarines, carriers, bombers, fighter aircraft and missile systems.
