Article Abstract:
The companies GRAPHICS & DESIGN (G&D) in Hamburg/Germany and MARINTEK (Norwegian Maritime Technology Research Institute) in Norway have developed a new generation of an interactive 3D vessel simulator (3D-VIVS). The main aim of 3D-VIVS is to provide realistic vessel motions in different environmental conditions and G&D has programmed the 3D visualization that is able to process the numeric calculation from the simulator in real time.
