India and France ink SCORPENE deal

India and France have signed a deal for the license construction of six SCORPENE-type submarines after six years of negotiations, controversies, and cost escalation problems. The construction of SCORPENE submarines is sanctioned under the Project 75 programme, the aim of which is to build national competence in the field of submarine.

'Carrera': The first real Spanish export-submarine floated
Article Abstract:
The IZAR and DCN have completed the formal construction of the first series of the SCORPENE type export-submarines with the floating of the conventional, non-nuclear submarine 'Carrera'. The submarine 'Carrera' is the second of a total of two submarines for the Chilean Navy and the first one to be assembled in Cartagena, Spain.
