Information technology at the center of Army transformation
Article Abstract:
The most significant transformational changes of the US Army, while it organizes, equips and trains for the global war on terrorism, is in the exponential growth of its information technologies which link sensors, shooters and warfighters together. The Information wing of the Army is providing soldiers with a world-class communications and information capability that is fully embedded in the joint force and is rapidly becoming interoperable with coalition forces.

Fielding a medical force to keep soldiers healthy

The Army Medical Department (AMEDD) is adapting doctrine and taking advantage of advanced technology to field a medical force that meets modern requirements. Thus, the Army is trying is improve flexibility, scalability and deployability of the medical force through the Medical Reengineering Initiative (MRI).
