Intelligence dilemmas in the Lebanon war
Article Abstract:
An attempt is made to assess the Israeli intelligence achievements and failures in the Lebanon war and although the Israeli intelligence was able to penetrate certain levels of Hezbollah's alignments, it was also limited in the importance of the decisive test of utilizing the secrets. In overall perspective it seems that Israel's miscalculation in assessing intelligence information in Lebanon was that of underestimating the enemy, the same cause as that of America's miscalculations in Iraq.
