Israel-West Bank barrier
Article Abstract:
Israel began the construction of the West Bank separation barrier in 2003 as a security measure against Palestinian suicide bomb attacks, but it seems to be of short-term value and not a long-term solution to Israel's security problems. Although supporters argue that the wall is not designed to permanently fix Israel's borders along the West Bank, critics believe that the barrier violates international law and is an attempt to pre-empt final negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
