Jihadist ideology struggles to take root in Bangladesh
Article Abstract:
The threat posed to the Bangladeshi security and intelligence agencies by the religious extremist organization Jama'at-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) was countered in 2005, resulting in the infeasibility of a religious extremist revolution. Although JMB benefited from some international funding, it was essentially a domestic group developed due to poverty and unemployment, and its efficient dismantling by Bangladesh reflects on the clear-cut political directives of the country.
