KC-130s in MOOTW
Article Abstract:
KC-130s are ideal for use in military operations other than war (MOOTW) because of the flexibility offered by their crews. The navy aircraft, which has been touted for its aerial refuelling capability, can provide expeditionary abilities for MOOTWs to improve the possibility of operational success. A KC-130 crew can provide fixed-wing and rotary-wing aerial refueling, quick ground refueling as well as cargo and personnel transport.

Article Abstract:
A test of the MV-22 Osprey in Feb 1999 revealed a minor problem with the aircraft's computerized automatic flight control system. The problem, which was triggered by certain wind conditions, required software changes to improve aircraft performance given such conditions. Downwash conditions that may affect seaboard, rescue and other operations were also addressed during the month-long tests.
