Kuwait goes PALADIN
Article Abstract:
Kuwait's Army has selected M-109A6 PALADIN under a second phase of its programme aimed at establishing modern 155mm SP artillery forces. The first phase involved taking delivery of a batch of 27 Chinese NORINCO PLZ45 systems for a first battalion. The most recent contract, valued at $469 million, calls for complete equipment for two SP artillery battalions and ancillaries. The two politically-motivated procurements are deemed by the Kuwaiti government as having a crucial function in view of the overall security posture of the nation.
