Land positioning and navigation: Status and prospects
Article Abstract:
Land navigation systems are successfully used in modern military vehicles, primarily for instantaneous reference and positioning purposes since the 1970s. A growing range of sensors and devices that while primarily intended for other uses are becoming increasingly location aware where systems such as Global Positioning System receivers and INS platforms are backed and even replaced by imaging, radar which are developing precise positioning capabilities.
