Littoral Combat ship designs continue to evolve
Article Abstract:
The US NavyEs Littoral Combat Ship program have revised their design approaches to meet the changing requirements for the vessel. US Naval Sea Systems Command is expecting to award three contracts worth $10 million each for seven months of preliminary design which would then select one team for detailed design and construction of two Flight O vessels which are due to be ordered in Fiscal Years 2005 and 2006.

Battle is joined in programme to supply future LCS radar system
Article Abstract:
The European radar companies are competing with each other for the order to supply radars for the 60 Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) vessels, which would be built for the U.S. Navy. EADS appears to have strong chance of winning because its TRS-3D/16-ES radar is selected by one of the two possible LCS prime contractors, Lockheed Martin Corp.
