Elusive shipboard UAV finally nears operational capability
Article Abstract:
The seatrials for Northrop Grumman's RQ-8B Fire Scout unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) may take place on the HSV Swift, which is a highspeed catamaran ferry modified for research into future US Navy warships on September 2004. This test is important, as its success will result in the development and implementation of the first full-scale program for putting the UAVs aboard the ships.
