Article Abstract:
Super Hornet and Super Tomcat are the group of multimission fighter aircrafts with sophisticated weapons and systems attached to the crafts, which are an integral part of the U.S. Navy. Details of the various aircrafts commissioned in the U.S. Navy and the various upgradations taken place in the respective aircrafts are discussed.

Agile radar guides Navy's Super Hornets

The APG-79, a nose-mounted, active electronically scanned array airborne radar designed for the Navy's F/A-18E/F Super Hornet strike fighter offers improved situational awareness, range and image resolution. The Naval Air Systems Command plans to order more than 400 APG-79 radar sets.
