Article Abstract:
The airspace control authority (ACA) action officers must constantly study how each Service Component employs its aircraft and how each Component views the battle space. A successful airspace planner must have the ability to formulate the requirements for the full spectrum of aviation operations i.e. from the rotary-wing to space-based systems.

AeroVironment designed and built the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency-funded Wasp microair vehicle (MAV). The Wasp is a small unmanned aerial system (UAS), which has a 12-inch wingspan, can travel at 30 miles per hour and could provide squads and platoons with a highly portable UAS.
