The importance of the Pakistan Navy for its country's security
Article Abstract:
Admiral Fasih Bokhari of the Pakistan Navy said that their primary mission was the defense of their country's maritime interests, securing their sea lines of communication and the sea-based defense of Pakistan. Their secondary mission includes surveillance, hydrographic surveys, disaster relief, Anti Narcotic Missions and maritime cooperations with other regional navies. Bokhari claims that tension in their area in increasing because India is attempting to dominate the littoral states and determine the flow of trade in the region.

New Zealand Navy into the 21st century
Article Abstract:
New Zealand Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral K.F. Wilson describes the roles and missions of the Royal New Zealand Navy within the new framework of the national defence policy. Future investments in defence have been previously outlined in a White Paper called Defence Assessment which concluded that extant defence policy remained valid. Its three principal components included the defence of New Zealand against low-level threats, regional security and global security.
