Multi-role consoles and displays: Operational and manning prospects
Article Abstract:
Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and open architecture (OA) used in modern combat systems make workstations of multi-function consoles and displays possible in order to provide flexibility, sustainment and affordability, while also making training easier. The capability to visualize and synthesize tactical situations allows for better decisions, enabling improved warfighting capabilities obtained from consistent and uniform workstations utilizing common skilled training from operators.
