NATO ground-based Air Defence
Article Abstract:
NATO Air Defence (AD) plays a vital role in the political, military and low enforcement response required to counter the potential threats to Alliance territory and hence NATO countries are keeping their AD forces at a level consistent with the requirements to collective defence and other Alliance missions. The NATO AD structure should provide necessary joint operational capabilities, such as an effective engagement capability, deployability and mobility, survivability of forces and sustainability, to ensure sufficient presence throughout Alliance territory.
