NATO undertakes command structure review
Article Abstract:
NATO has started reviewing the peacetime establishment of its three-tier structure of strategic, operational and tactical component level headquarters, which might result in the restructuring of the Alliance's command structure. The review is linked to experience from Afghanistan and to NATO's new level of ambition and NATO's Military Committee will make a first report to the North Atlantic Council in January 2007.

Norway faces a future of difficult decisions
Article Abstract:
The Norwegian armed forces have gradually transformed from a Cold War-type organization into a standing, partially professionalized expeditionary force since the Defense Review of 2000. Although there was a three-fold increase in the armed forces ability to deploy forces, the next Defense Review, which is under progress, might have difficult measures to be taken.
