USA ponders options after Pyongyang's nuclear admission
Article Abstract:
The United Nations Command (UNC) believe that North Korea' s admission for actively pursuing a nuclear weapons programme may force Washington to engage with Pyongyang to prevent destabilization and a regional arms race from developing. Under the 1994 Agreed Framework, Pyongyang agreed to freeze its nuclear program in exchange for the annual delivery of 500,000 tons of Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) and the construction of two Light Water Reactors (LWR) by US-led Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization (KEDO).
