NEURON - the European UCAV demonstrator
Article Abstract:
The main aim of the uninhibited combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) demonstrator programme (also called NEURON) launched in 2003 by the French Procurement Agency (DGA) is to contribute to the development of the key technologies, needed to prepare a future combat system for 2020 and beyond. The technological challenges faced by the NEURON demonstrator programme and in the building of a European team are discussed.
