NLUS moves forward into second century of service
Article Abstract:
Sheila M. McNeill was elected as the National President of Navy League of the United States (NLUS) at the helm of US' foremost organization representing the nation's sea services and she stated that the Navy League must continue to nurture the programs that are working, and develop new programs. A report on the Navy League's other principal activities, events, and accomplishments during 2003 is presented.

Councils a vital force for voyages of 'Old Ironsides'
Article Abstract:
The main idea of an award-winning educational outreach program, 'Old Ironsides Across the Nation', is to take the story of America's most cherished ship to the next generation of citizens and leaders. The U.S. Navy and the USS Constitution Museum in Boston have jointly sponsored this program, which has already completed the first half of an extended tour of cities and classrooms.

The crew of the German destroyer Lutjens made a public show of support to the crew of the USS Winston S. Churchill the day after the Sept 11, 2001 attacks. Americans worldwide received encouragement and support in the war on terrorism.
