Navy leaders push simulator-based training
Article Abstract:
The Navy's new DD(X) and Littoral Combat Ships are fitted with simulators and Navy leaders are emphasizing simulator-based training in the light of better computing power and globe-spanning connectivity of satellite communications. They believe the implementation of these changes in training and manning would help service achieve its goals of optimal recruitment.

Controlling the Command
Article Abstract:
The Deployable Joint Command and Control (DJC2) initiative was devised to assist combatant commanders of the US forge mobile command and control centers when preparing for major contingencies. After a warfighter exercise in August 2005, the Southern Command will get the first operational system in September 2005.
