The challenges ahead for the new administration

Among the many tasks faced by the new administration are: deploying more navy ships; recapitalization of the fleet; winning higher Defense budgets; and revitalizing the Coast Guard and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine. The various foreign threats to the US include terrorism, North Korea, China, and the ever-fragile Middle East.
