New smart ejection rack triples effectiveness of F-16 weapons
Article Abstract:
Terma A/S (Lystrup, Denmark) that will make it capable of supporting triplets of GBU-38 (500 lb) GPS-guided Joint Direct Attack Munitions (IDAMs) and EGBU-12 (627 lb) GPS/ laser-guided smart weapons. Based on its work on the pylon programme, Terma has now been tasked by the Royal Danish Air Force (RDAF) to develop a Smart TER to support a requirement to release multiple smart weapons per pylon.

Four entirely new precision-guided weapons might enter service between 2004 and 2006. The focus, in the US, is on exploiting the accuracy of Joint Direct Attack Munition's (JDAM) basic guidance technology and to combine JDAM technology with other sensors, making it possible to engage moving targets.
