Our future Reserve: A modest counterproposal
Article Abstract:
A counterproposal is presented to an earlier work on proposed changes to the Reserve community to enable a better future Reserve Component. It is suggested that the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) is a very useful unit of the Marine Corps that should not be disbanded, and that the existing pool of talent should be guided and encouraged to help solve problems effectively, while Reserve leaders make mentoring of young Reserve Marines a priority to enable robust manpower management.

ANGLICO employment in OIF
Article Abstract:
The driving force behind the reestablishment of the air/naval gunfire liaison companies (ANGLICOs) is the Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), from their former status as Marine liaison elements (MLEs). ANGLICO's relevancy to present and future's battlefield continues to grow as the training and equipping of foreign military elements increases.
